It has long been said that words have a powerful force. They can evoke emotion, give pleasure or hurt. When you speak words, do so carefully and consciously. Did you know that you can use their power to change your life? In this article, we explain what an affirmation is and how to use it every day.

Positive thinking makes us stronger and more resistant to stress. It also helps in the fight against depression and low self-esteem. With positive affirmations, you can literally change your way of thinking and make it work for you instead of against you.

Positive affirmations are short, simple messages sent to your mind. They are used to direct yourself towards the goals you want to achieve. The whole process is quite simple: repeat positive affirmations repeatedly and they will bring change and transformation in your life.

What are affirmations?

Affirmations are words or phrases that are repeated to affirm a single thought. They help reprogram the subconscious from negative thinking to positive thinking. The idea is to take positive statements about what you would like to see in your life and repeat them enough times so that they become part of your thinking. When a thought is repeated, it becomes a belief, and beliefs become your reality over time. Here are some tips to keep in mind when creating your own powerful and positive affirmations.

Decide what your thinking will be

Start by thinking about what you would like to change in your life over the next few months or year. Would you like to have a more fulfilling job? Be less concerned about what other people think? Be more patient, understanding? Feel more yourself in every aspect of your life? Pay attention to these things. If your list is long, choose the goal that is most important to you.

Create positive statements

Once you know what you would like to change in your life, create some simple statements that reflect the reality of that change. Remember to make this positive statement in the present tense. For example, if you want a more satisfying job, your affirmation should read: “my job is satisfying”. Being so specific and positive is very important when creating affirmations.

Make them realistic

Your subconscious can benefit from positive affirmations that broaden your perspective, but if you go too far, your “inner judge” can act up and replace or influence the affirmations. Therefore, be realistic but also optimistic. If you do this, positive affirmations will be more effective for you. For example, stating: “my job is rewarding”. It may seem too difficult, and your subconscious may have problems with it. In that case, you may need a “transition” affirmation to help you feel the truth of your affirmation. A “transition” affirmation might look like the following: “I am about to do a satisfying job” or “I am grateful for all the satisfying aspects of my job”.

Affirmations should always be in the first person – always write your affirmations in the first person, such as: “I am a wealthy and prosperous person!”.

How do you create positive and powerful affirmations?

Being able to stay positive is a big step forward in achieving your goals and dreams. Being able to create your own powerful and positive affirmations will bring you closer to achieving your goals and dreams. Affirmations are positive written or verbal statements that you read or say to yourself daily to help reprogram your thoughts to be more positive. When you constantly read or replay affirmations in your mind for about 30 days, it becomes a habit that will change your thoughts and eventually your behavior. You will see your life change for the better in no time.
