A Beginner’s Guide to Magic Booster Boxes

If you’ve been reading up on Magic cards and the game itself, you’ve probably heard of booster boxes before. But what exactly are these boxes and why are they so important? In this beginner’s guide, we’ll cover what a booster box is, how to get them and what makes them different from other Magic products available on the market today.

What are they?

Magic booster boxes are a great way for beginners to jump into the world of card games. They’re also a great way for more experienced players to get an easy start on their collections. The decks they contain are ready-to-play, meaning that all you have to do is open them and you can start playing! The best part is, they come in different types so there’s something for everyone! If you like the idea of getting cards from sets with some older, classic cards in them, then one of these booster packs would be perfect for you. If you want something newer or want your deck to be a certain theme or color, then look out for those boosters as well. You’ll find most people who collect cards will usually pick up booster packs from any set that appeals to them at the time. In addition, most stores will always offer starter kits which include two pre-made decks and two booster packs for a discounted price. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, however, I recommend going to eBay where prices vary but can sometimes be lower than retail prices. Whatever your preferences are when it comes to buying new cards, rest assured that there’s something here for everyone!

Benefits of opening a booster box

Booster boxes are designed for a specific game and contain 16 packs of cards. These packs contain a random assortment of cards that are all from the same set, and each pack has an average of 11 commons, 3 uncommon, and 1 rare card. Opening booster boxes is a great way for beginners to get started on building their collection, or for more advanced players to get new cards without having to spend a lot of money. Additionally, booster box openings can be used as an activity for family gatherings or parties because it is an exciting process that brings people together.

What do you get?

Inside a booster box, you will find 36 unopened packs of cards. These packs contain 15 cards each, broken down into rarities. There are four common cards, three uncommon, two rare and one mythic rare card per pack. You will also receive 1 token or 1 basic land inside each pack.

In some cases you may also find a foil card that has been stamped with a special finish to make it stand out from other cards in the pack (either gold or silver). These collectible foils are very sought after and can sell for high prices on the secondary market. They are often called shiny by players because they have a shiny foil finish as opposed to matte finishes on normal cards.

The value of cards

Wizards of the Coast, the creators of the card game, release new sets every three months. With each set come around 300 new cards that range from common (cards that are worth $1) all the way up to mythic rare.  If you’re just starting out in this game, it can be a little daunting figuring out what cards are good for your deck and which ones you should buy. It also might be hard to understand why some cards cost more than others. As a beginner, it is best to start off with a pre-built deck until you have enough experience and knowledge about how the game works.
